Project Location:
Intersection of 6th Street and Cummins Way
Background:
The City has prioritized this location to be analyzed for traffic calming and mitigation measures due to neighborhood concerns. The City has engaged with the neighborhood to access and initiate traffic calming measures. The traffic calming measures installed in 2022 include stop signs, advance warning signs, and striping. The City is in the process performing a feasibility study to further evaluate the intersection and prepare a comprehensive strategy.
Description or Scope:
The project objective is to improve safety at the intersection. To accomplish this, the City will prepare a comprehensive traffic calming and mitigation strategy including public outreach, technical studies, feasibility studies, and initial design plans.
Project Benefits:
The project will improve public safety at the intersection of 6th Street and Cummins Way.
Schedule:
Design: July 2023 – December 2024
Construction: Fall 2025
